The Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace Development (FADA) is a non-profit organization established in 2007 whose purpose is the support, development and promotion of R&D activities in order to encourage the economic growth of the aerospace sector in Andalusia and to promote the generation and exploitation of new knowledge and technologies.
Its mission is the promotion and development of technology and its transference to the productive industrial network of aerospace sector through scientific research, technological development and knowledge management. It also aims at being a supporting tool in the process of generation and management of aerospace scientific and technological knowledge and working in coordination with the University, other research centres and industrial sector.
FADA is the managing organization of the Flight Test Centre ATLAS and its associated technology infrastructure, which constitutes a laboratory for flight-testing of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), unique in Europe. FADA also manages the Centre for Advanced Aerospace Technologies (CATEC), focused on developing the areas of Avionics and Unmanned Systems, Simulation and Software, Automation and Robotics and Materials and Processes.
The FADA Board of Trustees is composed of the Andalusian Innovation and Development Agency (IDEA), the Andalusian Association of Research and Industrial Cooperation (AICIA), Alestis Aerospace, Association of Aeronautical Companies, Airbus Defence and Space, Elimco, the National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA) and the University of Seville.
