ATLAS
ATLAS (Air Trafic Laboratory for Advanced unmanned Systems) is a Test Flight Centre located in Villacarrillo (Jaen) which offers the international aerospace community an aerodrome equipped with excellent technological-scientific facilities and airspace ideally suited to the development of experimental flights with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS/RPAS).

The ATLAS Centre holds the first facilities in Spain exclusively dedicated to testing light and tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) or Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems RPAS.

These facilities are unique and leading in Europe, as they are the first exclusively designed for researching and testing these aircrafts, an field considered worldwide as one of the most promising in international aerospace industry.

Therefore, this is a strategic project for the Andalusian aerospace industry, since it will be at the edge of one of the world’s most promising subsectors and also represents one of the foci for research and development of new military and civil technologies at international level. At the same time, the project will encourage the industrial activity on UAV sector, which is being developed in Andalusia and Spain by several companies and organizations.
